How it all began...

Embellir Relief  is a concept created by Christina J.Terry in 1990

Growing up in Germany, Christina was surrounded by historic mansions and castles. Intrigued by the beautiful finishes and decor of these buildings, the former pastry chef felt inspired to bring the old world to the new world.

“Being a pastry chef with a love for decorative stucco and relief work from the 16-18th centuries, it had to happen; six years into my pastry career in 1990, my interest in restoration of the ornamental interiors of these centuries old buildings gave birth to the idea of using my pastry bag to pipe plaster directly onto walls and ceilings instead of using molds to create these reliefs. Using plaster seemed to be a good choice at first, but it took me many years to discover the right mixture of materials to have a product which is long lasting and durable. Not working with molds, therefore not reproducing the same designs over and over allows me to offer custom-designed relief work and art. And since this is a direct application, it makes it more affordable.”
Developing and working both sides, Christina finally gave up her “pastry life” after 20 years to focus completely on inedible art.
